Lowe’s is embracing pets as part of its home improvement retail plan.

The Mooresville-based retail chain is partnering with Petco to pilot the first “store-in-store” concept adding pet food and supplies, the company announced Thursday.

Lowe’s + Petco locations will also offer Petco services, such as mobile grooming and vet clinics for vaccinations, microchipping and pest prevention. The first location will open early next month at Alamo Ranch, Texas, and expand to 14 other stores in Texas, North Carolina and South Carolina by the end of March.

Half of the Lowe’s + Petco locations will be in the Carolinas within the Charlotte region. But the companies have not selected which stores yet, Bill Boltz, executive vice president of merchandising for Lowe’s, told the Observer on Wednesday.

Best Junk Removal Companies January 2022 – Forbes Advisor

House Renovation

If you’re having your house renovated or are doing home improvements on your own and have some bulky items to toss, hiring a junk removal company is a good idea. The items you’re tearing out likely won’t get accepted by your trash hauler and while you could rent a dumpster to haul the stuff yourself, it’s a lot easier to hire out the hauling.

Your home accumulates junk over the years and if your home is in need of a deep cleaning, hiring a hauling company is a good idea. Not all of the items you want to get rid of need to go to a landfill and a hauling company can take items you want donated to a place that accepts donations. Often, the junk haulers can provide you a receipt of the donation, which you can use for a deduction at tax time.

How Inflation Will Affect Home Improvement Prices in 2022

Inflation—a steady uptick in prices for goods and services, and the corresponding dip of our purchasing power—is higher now than it has been for decades. In October 2021, the consumer price index (CPI) increased 6.2 percent from the previous year, a spike not seen since 1990, according to the U.S. Department of Labor.

“Simply put, inflation measures the changing value of the dollar,” explains Mischa Fisher, chief economist for home services website Angi. “So with an inflation rate of 6.2 percent, $100 last year is only worth about $94 this year.”

The Cause? Blame COVID

Inflation occurs due to supply and demand imbalances. During the height of the Covid-19 pandemic, the economy shut down and households stopped spending on such nonessentials as travel, entertainment, and restaurants. Merchants had no choice but to raise prices to stay afloat.

Covid-19 effects also led to dramatic shortages in materials, problems

Natal Despair And Low Revenue

There are a lot of elements to contemplate when selecting an inside paint. I’ll do the same thing with this bed of scallions when they die down too. I won’t get much from the tops of those plants this time, but it’s a must to count on a smaller yield when you abandoned your backyard. I am going to use the small pearl onions on the top to replant the bed, and harvest whatever is under the soil for the dehydrator. They make a very candy and oil stuffed onion that is not hot in any respect. Once you dehydrate them in slices, they’re excellent for soups, stews, beans, or any baked dish that will permit the dried onion to rehydrate whereas cooking. Does the DIY home improvement boom have staying power?

In a workshop at the Station North Tool Library near downtown Baltimore, half a dozen students gathered for a lesson in tools for home renovation — from a basic power drill to a miter saw and a jigsaw.

Several of the students were new homeowners. Jacqueline Wood, 31, is a medical resident who bought a 100-year-old row house in April.

“I’ve done a couple of projects by myself with the help of the internet but wanted a little more guidance on how to do slightly more difficult things so that I don’t have to get a handyman every time I need to do something,” she said.

Nate Hetzler, also 31 and also a new homeowner, had a very specific project in mind. His grandfather died last year and left

Lowe’s sales outlook disappointed investors on Wednesday and raised concerns the pandemic-fueled boom in do-it-yourself and decorating projects is cooling.

The company’s shares dropped by as much as 4% in premarket trading. Then, the stock rose later Wednesday as new data from homebuilders showed a huge appetite for housing — even during a typically slow season and a period of inflation. That backdrop coupled with Lowe’s executive comments about the possibility for market share gains, help the stock bounce back.

Shares rose 2% to close at $257.54 on Wednesday. The company’s stock is up about 60% this year, bringing its market value to $173.52 billion.

During an analyst meeting, Chief Financial Officer Dave Denton said the retailer anticipates its sales will outpace competitors and it will win more

Looking to make some home improvements? Home Depot is what you need (he’s a dog)

TAMPA, Fla. (AP) — While it would be nice to get Tom Brady and Tampa Bay’s other healthy starters some rest, coach Bruce Arians isn’t counting on it when the defending Super Bowl champions close the regular season against the Carolina Panthers.

The Bucs (12-4) have already won the NFC South and matched a franchise record for regular-season wins. However, there’s still plenty to play for Sunday with Brady and Co. looking to stay in the running for a No. 2 playoff seeding.
